Just as in life, the Elves have many differences to the Dwarves that effectively make the two races cultural opposites; one of them is that while the Dwarves are folk who value unity and community and thus have a fairly unified culture, the Elves are much more individualistic and free-spirited which has led to them fracturing into unique sub-cultures. While there are many such sub-cultures, the three most prominent ones across the Kingdoms are the High Elves, the Wood Elves, and the Drow. The High Elves are the ones that residents of the Kingdom of Light are most likely to encounter in some fashion; they can be found in just about every facet of daily life in the capital and other cities, although they particularly excel in the fields of academics, craftsmanship, bureaucratic work, and military service. There have always been Dwarves digging and smithing away beneath the homes of the angels; and Dwarves and their guilds have always contributed to the Kingdom's various institutions, whether they be the markets with food and metals and fresh Astral Marble, or the military with armor and weapons that balance artistry and durability, or the academies with historical preservation and participation in the legal and philosophical debate forums. Whether their Surface-dweller neighbors are even aware of how integral they are to the Kingdom's continued existence is of little concern to them; they're practical and honorable folk who value hard work and self-reliance far more than any fame or status they could gain from those on the Surface. Besides, they have a far greater worry than whether the angels above even know they exist: after all, the Dwarves never forgot the Fall of the Old Unity or the Reign of Darkness that followed, and while each Beard and Braid hopes that they never live to see

The Kingdoms of Light and Darkness, and even the ruined Kingdom in the Grey Wastes, all draw souls from many realms and multiverses: some are beloved by both the Heir and the Mage, such as the countless Zones of Mobius or the temporal and spacial madness of Paradox Space; but there are others who draw the attention of only one of the Creators, and thus the folk who arrive from these realms and universes are said to be "blessed" or "cursed" (depending on which Kingdom that soul ascends to) by the corresponding Creator.
